Contracts
In Albania EODS contracts to safely clear 15000 tons of munitions is ongoing and will continue for the next two years.
EOD Solutions Ltd is currently working in Albania at the Gerdec site which is funded by the Office of Weapons Removal and Abatement www.state.gov/t/pm/wra in the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Political-Military Affairs (PM/WRA) via a grant to the Slovenia-based International Trust Fund for Demining and Mine Victims Assistance (ITF) http://www.itf-fund.si/ , which has contracted the work to Sterling International, LLC, sub-contracted with EOD Solutions.
Indeed nearly all the 16 projects EOD Solutions Ltd has carried out in Albania over the last 12 years, have been funded through the PM/WRA office, which has supported Albania substantially during its demilitarisation process.
As a side issue to this project we are in consultations to destroy the cartridge cases and fuzes recovered during the clearance operations at Gerdec. This will be funded through ITF and its donors. This will remove the explosive items from the cartridges and fuzes to reduce the items to scrap.
